Morihei Ueshiba
Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1969) was history’s greatest martial artist. He was the founder of Aikido, which can be translated as “The Art of Peace.” Morihei Ueshiba is referred to by the practitioners of Aikido as O-Sensei, “The Great Teacher”. The following quotations have been compiled from O-Sensei’s collected talks, poems, and calligraphy, and from oral tradition.

The Art of Peace begins with you. Work on yourself and your appointed task in the Art of Peace. Everyone has a spirit that can be refined, a body that can be trained in some manner, a suitable path to follow. You are here for no other purpose than to realize your inner divinity and manifest your innate enlightenment. Foster peace in your own life and then apply the Art to all that you encounter

God said:

Whatever occurs, you swim in this pond of life. You have this opportunity to experience life. This is an amazing thing. What a gift you have been given. Thank God you have life. If life has you in a whirl, thank God you can experience what it is to be a-twirl in life. And if you are penned in a corner, thank God you can experience what it is to be penned in a corner. You are experiencing life, beloveds. The whole carpet of life has been rolled out for you. Walk on it. Don’t be timid. This is life.

Consider life a block of ice that you chip at.

Consider life a many-layered cake made of many flavors and colors. Lick your plate clean.

Consider life pick-up sticks.

Consider life a skein of yarn for you to disentangle. No explanations are needed. As you disentangle a ball of yarn, you disentangle a ball of your life on Earth.. You don’t have to know how you are going to do it. You just do it.

Given the energies we will be blessed with this coming year, we all need to take some time right now just doing a self-check so that we can be sure that we will be prepared to help others. We are moving into a year that will require us to always take the “high road” so that others will follow. To that end I thought this might be helpful.

Live in States of Empowerment by Avoiding States of Victimhood.
Traits of victim-consciousness by Dr. Lee Pulos

1 Blame (things or others outside yourself, excuses, through programming/allowing)

2 Martyrhood (Look at poor me, I sacrifice & work too hard. Poor me attitude)

I recently had a week where my husband was very busy at work and as a
result was working late a lot. The problem for me was that, with four
kids, when my husbands work load increases, so does mine. With my
husband unable to help out as much as he usually would I quickly
slipped into “poor me” mode and found myself having thoughts about how
terrible it was that I had to take on all these extra burdens.

These thoughts led me to have increasingly angry feelings towards my
husband until I was attributing all the woes of my life to him.
Luckily I was able to snap out of it before he came home from work
that night.

The point I am trying to make is that it is very easy to slip into
blaming your spouse for every angry feeling you experience. Therefore
it is important that you be able to distinguish between appropriate
anger and excessive or misdirected anger.

If we accept Time and Space as Illusions
- Perception –
in the World of the Physical must be based upon a very specialized Code of
- Non Perception -
for all Happenings occur simultaneously
and take place within Spacelessness.

Since we do not perceive all Happenings at once
it means that we are very specialized indeed.

The Human Instrument
- most amazingly and expertly -
filters out
all Happenings… except for the present Scene.
The Human Instrument and its Range of Perception
is based on a Spaciotemporal Frequency
that keeps our Physical Awareness synchronized
within the Moment of the Present.

THE HUMAN BODY IS THE REALIZATION OF A MIRACLE

In the whole Universe there is
only
- CONSCIOUSNESS -
and its Self Organizing Energy Vibrations
known as
Thoughts… Things… Beings or Self Images
that function
as seemingly Independent Agents
by observing and participating in
meaningful and forever changing Activities
for the Good of the Whole.

All Thoughts… Things… Beings and Essences
are Conscious or Self Aware
in proportion
to the Needs of the Whole.

The Underlying Structure of Consciousness
exists beyond Spaciotemporal Existence
and it is not Consciously Aware of itself
but brings forth
Individually Consciously Aware Beings or Essences
as its Representatives.

CONSCIOUSNESS OR MIND… IT'S ALL THERE IS
